About
Nancy Hinchliff holds undergraduate degrees in music and education and graduate degrees in music, science of education, and special education. She taught in the Chicago public school system for thirty-five years and in the School of Education at the University of Illinois in Chicago. She has been writing most of her adult life?journal articles, essays, and creative nonfiction?and has been published in newsletters, local magazines, and as a guest on various blogs.
In 2008, she coauthored Room at the Table, a cookbook written for the Bed and Breakfast Association of Kentucky, which won their president’s award for excellence. In June 2017, she published a debut memoir, Operatic Divas and Naked Irishmen: An Innkeeper’s Tale, a story that reflects her experiences as an innkeeper and owner. She recently started a third book, a memoir, with a working title of Chasing Away the Fifties: How I Survived Being a Housewife and Mother in the 1950s, which is on hold at the present while she tries her hand at writing a novel.
Ms. Hinchliff presently resides in Essex Junction, Vermont, where she lives near her family and writes full time. Her WIP is titled The Other Side of the Family. A first-time novel, it is a companion piece to Roxie and Alfred.
